GM Christopher O'Connor

In my journey to become a design leader I had the unique opportunity to work with Chris O'Connor as he led the Cloud and Smarter Infrastructure and then as he started Watson IoT. During this time I was able to learn about the larger business model and what aspects are key in our goals and mission.

I was able to see both a mature business and start up. In the mature business unit we were challenged with staying current in the market during the time. On January 2015 IBM reorganized and began to pursue the business of the Internet of Things. During the first six months of the business I helped to organize and drive the new design strategy, shifting away from our legacy products and towards a new market. At the end of this assignment, I took on the role of leading Design for Watson IoT.
